Story from Jam Press (Cheapest House Sale) Pictured: Exterior of the the cheapest house in the UK?s cheapest area. The cheapest house in the UK?s cheapest area is up for sale at ?50,000 Fancy snapping up the cheapest house in the cheapest area to buy in the UK for only ?50,000? Now you can. Shildon is a small quiet town, just outside of the bustling city of Durham. And it happens to be the most affordable place to buy in Britain. A study, carried out by Zoopla, found that the price of the average home was ?73,200. Now, a two-bedroom, semi-detached house has gone on the market; for a low market tag of ?50,000, reports Luxury Property News. Currently, there are others available for just ?40,000 ? but they?re listed as an auction, meaning this is likely the starting bid amount. This property, however, is a regular chain-free sale. And the best part? It requires no renovation work. Stepping inside, there?s a spacious entrance hall, living room ? with electric fireplace ? and reasonably sized kitchen. Each room, including the bedrooms, has been fitted with new grey carpet and the walls appear to have had a fresh lick of paint. The family bathroom, however, may require some TLC; but it already hosts all the amenities. With on-street parking and the freehold included it?s an absolute steal. Just a stone?s throw away from local facilities and schools, as well as transport links into the city, it?s perfect for a young couple or family. The property, which is on the market for ?50,000 is listed with Robinsons estate agents, Bishop Auckland. ENDS

Story from Jam Press (Pink Studio Builders) Pictured: Inside the studio flat. Bizarre studio flat with bunk beds for up to TEN builders to live in leaves home hunters baffled A bizarre studio flat full of pink bunk beds for up to TEN builders to live in has left home hunters baffled. The seafront pad is listed as only having one bedroom. There is also just one bathroom for them to share. But it costs an eye-watering ??1,295 a month to rent. The??flat, in Brighton, is dubbed as ???perfect??? for ???builders??? or ???students.??? Decorated with garish pink rose wallpaper, rainbows, pastelle bed coverings and fake ivy the property offers immediate move in. Potential tenants are allowed to move in to the property, equipped bizarrely with astroturf flooring, the day of viewing. The private landlord offers guaranteed acceptance to desperate house hunters with no credit check and a low deposit. Describing the property as perfect for ???builders, contractors, students and big families relocating??? the landlord charges a ??35 fee for same day move-ins. House hunters would be forced to share the small space with up to nine other tenants with only one bathroom between them all. The property boasts four bunk beds which renters would presumably be expected to share with other tenants. They would also be expected to share the single bathroom and a miniature kitchenette. The cramped space leaves little room for manoeuvring with the bunk beds, sofa and TV taking up any excess space. The landlord's listing on OpenRent reads: ???Themed extra large studio room with kitchenette, private bathroom, microwave, hob, 10 separate beds. ???Maximum tenants 10.??? ???Perfect for builders, contractors, students, large groups and big families relocating.??? Potential renters were left baffled by it, as reported by??Luxury Property News. One said: ???All these builders love pink beds and rainbows. ???I imagine if they did stay there it would be the source of a monumental p*ss

FILE PHOTO - The Shark House in suburban Oxford. Photo released December 16 2024. The owner of the iconic "shark house" in Oxford says "come while you can" after council demand closure of quirky Airbnb.Oxford City Council won the planning appeal banning the use of short let accommodation last week for the quirky property in New Street, Headington, more widely known as the Shark House - which features a 25ft shark sticking out of its roof. This comes after owner Dr. Magnus Hanson-Heine, whose father Bill Heine constructed the sculpture without official planning permission from Oxford City Council in 1986.For the last five years, Dr. Hanson-Heine has been letting the property out on Airbnb for short term stays - but received notice from the council to shut it down, after a member of the public complained about the change from a residential use to a short-term let.

Would you pay £6,000 a month to live in a house with a shark in the roof?
